As a developer trying to learn about the Identity Subsystem, I must say I am utterly disappointed in the way your documentation has been managed on both msdn andwww.asp.net. I realize that part of the difficulty in organizing this information stems from the extensive changes that the security subsystem has undergone in the last years. However, most of your information seems to be laid out in the form of Magazine-style articles contributed by experts in the field. While this sounds great in theory, have a look at your Recommended Resources section to see how scattered and tedious finding relevant, focused information has become; one has to unnecessarily trawl through numerous articles to discover what you are after.
A lot of these problems seem to arise from *not separating* the 'What' from the 'How' - For instance, I would like to understand the key concepts surrounding OWIN's support for federation, in order to make key decisions regarding our federation topology (i.e the 'What'). I'd then like to learn how to implement said OWIN federation using Visual Studio 2015 or 2012 (ie. the 'How'). Try trawling through your resources to see how inefficient and wearisome this process really is.
You know, I don't even particularly care that you take any of the above on board, can you please just point me to a resource (book, website, whatever) where information re the most recent Security developments in ASP.NET, and the implementation thereof, are organized in a cohesive, coherent way so I can discover information in an efficient, expedient manner?
