Issues with new ASP.Net Identity

It would be nice to have a document that mapped the old ASP.net membership provider to the new one. So that if you were using x security implementation, you should use y or z now and why to make each choice. The current documentation is really lacking.

Here's my issue;

I'm trying to setup a new site on our intranet and secure it with AD groups. Windows Authentication doesn't sound right because I need to do more than have a Windows auth. If I pick Organizational On Premises account sounds like the right option, but when I get to On-Premises Authority, there is nothing to tell me what this authority information should look like. I tried LDAP:\\MyDomain. I tried MyDomain. I tried several other things.

I have Authorize attributes on the controller, and specificy the groups, the users in the AD group specific to the application can't log in. But I *can* when I specify my IT group.

This is all confusing and the docs at http://www.asp.net/identity/overview are of no help.
